Introduction

Enhanced Medical Nutrition (EMN) develops evidence-based, clinically supported nutrition products designed to improve recovery outcomes for surgical patients. Their solutions help reduce complications, shorten hospital stays, and support better healing. EMN turned to BrightIron for HR and Bookkeeping support to help them scale efficiently.

The Challenge

EMN was scaling quickly and needed foundational support across both HR and finance. On the HR side, EMN was navigating the growing pains of building a team without consistent policies, systems, or leadership development tools in place.

On the finance side, the company was looking for a clear structure for reporting, efficient processes, and the visibility required to confidently manage margins and operations.

HR
BrightIron conducted a comprehensive HR audit to identify compliance gaps and areas for improvement, using the findings to build a tailored HR roadmap. We introduced an HRIS to centralize employee data and streamline administrative processes. Clear, compliant employee policies were developed to align with company values and regulatory requirements.

We also designed and launched onboarding and offboarding programs to improve the employee experience and rolled out a new manager training series to support leadership development across the team. A compensation framework was created to guide pay practices and support both growth and employee development. Throughout the engagement, EMN received ongoing strategic HR advisory, recruitment support, and operational guidance.

Finance
BrightIron implemented a customized chart of accounts to bring greater transparency to EMN’s financial reporting. We developed and rolled out efficient financial processes, then led the full monthly financial reporting cycle—from transaction entry to final reporting—ensuring EMN’s leadership team had accurate, timely data to make informed decisions.

To further support growth, we automated core financial and operational workflows, including the successful implementation of an inventory management system. This initiative improved financial accuracy and gave the company much-needed visibility into margins.
