Shawn brings a unique 20 year blend of experience across product, venture capital, and go-to-market strategy. He’s spent years operating and advising early-stage companies, with hands-on leadership experience as a Chief Revenue Officer and Board Director. Before joining BrightIron, he was a Partner at OMERS Ventures and at Brightspark Ventures, where he specialized in deep tech, mobility and vertical software investments while supporting portfolio companies through key growth stages.

Shawn’s career spans both public and private companies—from pre-revenue startups to IPO-ready businesses—with past sales and marketing leadership roles at global brands like Microsoft’s Xbox and at Spin Master where he managed a portfolio of tech brands from manufacturing to sell-through. He’s equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the trenches, helping founders build momentum and make smart moves.

Shawn leads BrightIron’s Go-To-Market (GTM) services team who work closely with startups as they commercialize their products, optimize their sales motion and align their corporate strategy across everyone from their leadership team to their board.

When he’s not working with ambitious teams, you’ll find Shawn racing or touring on motorcycles, scuba diving somewhere warm or perfecting his brisket technique behind the BBQ for his family.
