David is a Charted Accountant who enjoys working with financial and operational data to help companies drive key strategic business decisions.
During his time with BrightIron, David has worked with a diverse group of startups, ranging in size from three employees to 75+, and across industries including healthcare, education, and video technology. David has helped some of his clients, including SeamlessMD, Lumen5, EnergyX Solutions, and MedMe Health, build robust financial models, implement improved processes, and develop more accurate and detailed reporting.
Prior to joining BrightIron, David has experience as the first finance hire at two different SaaS startups. Most recently David worked at Askuity, where he helped the company through its acquisition and then integration into The Home Depot. David obtained his CPA, CA designation while working in a rotational program at CIBC. He graduated from the Queen’s School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma in Accounting.
Outside of work, David enjoys all sorts of outdoor sports, frequently playing hockey, baseball, golf, and disc golf with friends. During the summer, he loves going on canoe trips, with Killarney Provincial Park his favourite destination.
